about me
Most people spend their lives wondering what they want to do when they grow up. I spend my life writing and refuse to grow up. I started my first "business" in elementary school with a friend - we created stationary and sold it door-to-door in the neighborhood. I spent more time naming and branding our business than I did actually creating the stationary. From that point on, I was hooked. We experimented with a series of entrepreneurial ventures that surpassed your typical lemonade stands.
Fast forward to eighth grade where I took my first production class and created a commercial for shoes that could withstand a shark bite. (Seriously.) My love of advertising and writing continued to grow throughout high school. I would rewrite my favorite commercials and, of course, was glued to the TV during every Super Bowl. In college my major was a no-brainer, and I started working at a small agency in Spartanburg, SC my junior year where learned more than I ever could in class.
After graduation in 2006, and a quick 6 months living at the beach, I returned to my hometown, Greenville, and worked at Infinity Marketing, The Palladian Group, and now, Erwin Penland. Over the past six years I've done everything from Account Management to Copywriting, and even both at the same time. My experience on both sides of the business has taught me what it takes to get a job done from start to finish. I'm a detail-oriented creative - which I've learned is a rare asset - and I'll work tireless to complete any objective. My unexpected experience includes representing a client at a full-costume gaming trade show, hanging from a ladder to get the shot we needed, presenting creative on a red-eye flight, and taking a pie in the face.
